The Nginn Karet Foundation for Cambodia exists in order to help village people in Cambodia to secure their basic needs, through a partnership programme
The Nginn Karet Foundation for Cambodia (NKFC) is a non-governmental organization conceived by its Founder Chairman, Mrs Ravynn Karet-Coxen.
Registered in 1994 by the Charity Commissioners as an English charity, in 2000 as NKFC-USA in Massachusetts, in 2001 as NKFC-FRANCE “Les Amis de la Fondation Nginn Karet” – Association régie par la Loi du 1er Juillet 1901 -In 1999 NKFC as a Charity in Cambodia (#1037695) with the Minister for Rural Development and since 2001 NKFC under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Funds raised by each of these branches all contribute to a single common program on the ground in Cambodia.
The Aim of the Nginn Karet Foundation for Cambodia is to empower remote villagers at grass root level in in Cambodia with the knowledge and resources to secure their basic needs through a partnership programs for a sustainable future.
The NKFC. programs focus on improving health and hygiene, clean water and latrines, environmental education, providing adequate school accommodation for primary level pupils and agricutural education on improving yields and diversity of food and cash crops, improving animal health, vocational education – teaching craft and other skills for enhanced livelihoods, and encouraging a participatory approach to development.
The NKFC respects and supports efforts to promote the traditional culture on which village life is based within the context of sustainable development.
The Conservatoire of Dance and Music, in 2007 is the latest addition of NKFC. It combines discipline with ancient Khmer tradition, as with all elements of the Foundation’s programs, and is central to consolidating the work already carried out in the villages.
Since 1999 NKFC provides workshops, education, wells, latrines, an Animal Healthcare Officer per village in 14 villages of the District of Banteay Srei for 2868 families (12,348 people).

With just up to a maximum of 20 guests who will be treated to a rarely seen choreography and innovative costumes which reflect the temples, their natural setting, and the humble background of the artists, experience an unforgettable evening with The Sacred dancers of Angkor!
Born in this sacred land, their story has captured the hearts of people from all around the world !
On arrival, guests will be greeted with a jasmine-scented cool towel and refreshing ginger iced tea. From there they will be shown to the organic vegetable garden to witness the harvesting of vegetables for dinner.
The guests will then be invited to take their seats on the tiers facing the “Rong Salapak” Dance Hall to be enchanted by a 45-minute classical performance. During the intermission a glass of champagne or fresh lime and mint will be served, before the performance resumes with rarely-seen folk repertoire.
Following the performance, guests will be taken through the exhibition in the fine art Sala, with the presentations of work by the artists, previously shown at London galleries. Guests will then have the opportunity to purchase artworks directly from the artists, helping to support their livelihood.
A delicious candlelit Cambodian 3 course dinner, accompanied by wine, will be served. Prepared by one of Siem Reap’s finest private household chefs, using recipes passed down from the family through generations, dinner will be accompanied by the sound of the traditional pin peat music played by the first all-female orchestra in the land.
The evening concludes with a lemongrass infusion and a little token gift prepared by the sacred dancers
This is a truly, magical experience for guests: a taste of Cambodia’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage offered nowhere else in the country. NKFC Conservatoire can cater on demand from Khmer Traditional Wedding Ceremonies to extraordinary performances with offerings as for a ritual – e.g. coming out of the jungle while guests are visiting Boeung Mealea – (check-out the video) and many more unique performances in refinement and delicate promotion of what is considered as the very best of Cambodian Culture and Tradition – a “highly professional Dance Troupe” – as stated by the Director of the Los Angeles Ballet Company who was so impressed that she attended twice, two days in a row at the 2 performances in Los Angeles with colleagues and friends. The troupe also had a standing ovation while performing at ASIA Society Park Avenue New York.
Should you need to also have the visit at the Dance and Music School during the rehearsal and training of the Students, the Center and Conservatoire can accommodate up to 32 visitors, and this, before or after the visit of Banteay Srei temple. The rehearsal session lasts about 45 minutes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
